Festival & Pride Talks

On this page you will find everything you need to know about the accessibility of our festival on 3 June at Willemsplein and the Pride Talks, which will be held in het Nieuwe Instituut from 1 to 11 June.

It is important to know that this is not about ALL events during Rotterdam Pride. For example, the opening is in the Kunsthal and various community events are also spread over several locations in the city. In the description of these events you can find more about the accessibility of that specific event.

We also ask the organisations in our Friends agenda to tell more about the accessibility of their event. Is it not listed? Then contact the organizers of the event and ask for more information.

Wheelchair accessibility

Het hele festivalterrein en de pride talk locatie het Nieuwe Instituut zijn beide volledig rolstoeltoegankelijk, wat ook betekent dat er rolstoeltoegankelijke toiletten aanwezig zijn. Op het festival is er ook een MIVA deck aanwezig. Mocht je ergens extra hulp bij nodig hebben, kun je altijd onze medewerkers of vrijwilligers om hulp vragen.

For our community events and the events of our friends it is important to look at the description of the event itself, as there are many different locations with different amenities. The organizer of an event is responsible for providing the correct information.

Stimuli!

Soms worden de prikkels allemaal net wat te veel en dan is het fijn als er manieren aanwezig zijn om deze te verminderen. Tijdens het festival zal er een stand aanwezig zijn waar je oordoppen kunt kopen en er is van drie tot zes een ontprikkelruimte aanwezig bij YG Studios (Westersestraat 40) waar je kunt uitrusten of bijvoorbeeld een yogalesje kunt volgen ter ontspanning. De locatie is echter niet volledig rolstoeltoegankelijk; je kunt wel naar binnen, maar er is geen rolstoeltoegankelijk toilet.

During the Pride Talks in het Nieuwe Instituut, a de-stimulation room is present.

Come to Rotterdam pride by public transport

On Saturday 3 June we advise you to come by public transport given the hustle and bustle in the city. However, public transport is always a good idea, as it is environmentally friendly, just like cycling.

Festival on Willemsplein

The nearest metro stop is 'Leuvehaven', which is a 5-minute walk from Willemsplein. There is an elevator present. From Central or Beurs you can take Metro line E (direction Slinge) and D (direction de Akkers). Tram 8, 12, 23 and 125 also stop there.

Pride Talks at het Nieuwe Instituut

Nieuwe Instituut is about a 15-minute walk from Rotterdam Central Station and can be reached by metro (stop Eendrachtsplein), tram 7 (stop Eendrachtsplein or stop Museumpark), tram 4 (stop Eendrachtsplein), bus 44 (stop Wytemaweg) and bus 32 (stop Breitnerstraat). Eendrachtsplein is equipped with an elevator, so you also have the option to come by public transport with a wheelchair.

Come by car

Are you still coming by car? Then we advise you to use the various free P+R parking spaces.  From here you can travel easily and within 10 minutes by public transport to the center of Rotterdam.

Parking for wheelchair users

Het Nieuwe Instituut has a parking space for visitors with a (functional) disability. In addition, on the website of the municipality of Rotterdam you will find an overview of parking spots which are reserved for wheelchair users.
